As SVP & President of Owned Brands, Bill leads a global team responsible for the end to end creation of Target’s Owned Brands, responsible for Design, Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Product Safety & Quality, Supply Planning, Packaging, Technology, Business Operations, Responsible Sourcing and Sustainable Capabilities, as well as our expanding Wholesale business outside of the US. Today, these brands cover product categories within Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Home, Hardlines (stationery, seasonal, electronics, pets & outdoor/sporting goods), Essentials and Beauty. Owned Brands serve as a key differentiator for Target, bringing joy and a deep connection to guests while consistently delivering responsible and profitable growth and making up nearly a third of the total business.
Bill’s experience in the retail sector spans more than 30 years and across companies such as Nike, the adidas Group and Walmart in areas of global sourcing, supply chain, product development, inventory management, demand planning, technology, and strategy. More than half of Bill’s career has been spent in Asia with stints in India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
In addition to his leadership at Target, Bill serves on the Board of Trustees for the Target Foundation. He holds a degree in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College and resides in Minneapolis with his wife and their two children.
